balck Friday vs 11.11

Black Friday vs 11.11

First, what is Black Friday? “  Black Friday is the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States (the fourth Thursday of November). “Since 1952, it has been regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in the U.S. Black Friday is not an official holiday, but California and some other states observe "The Day After Thanksgiving" as a holiday for state government employees. The news media have long described the day after Thanksgiving as the busiest shopping day of the year.”(Black Friday (Shopping))

Second why is it called Black Friday? First is because in economics,  people said that the retailers is in red when it does not make profit. But on that day, almost all people go shopping again (for pretty discounts and also for Christmas), so they say that the retailer is in black. The reason why they put the day after thanksgiving that they don’t need to go to work on that day but just go shopping. People usually are very busy in buying things for thanksgiving so they will not put it before thanksgiving. And it can also connect the weekend to make it a long time to buy things for Christmas. If you go to America that day, you will meet almost the same number of people in New York time square on the day before January 1(the new year).

Then it comes to china’s “shopping day”: 11.11( November 11st ) is a day just like Black Friday, a shopping day in China. But it’s online shopping. One that day, most products are at discount and they are very cheap. Different shopping apps join this activity. Everyone is well prepared to grab products from online malls which used to be expensive. The festival started from the beginning of that day(0:00), people go to different apps to “fight”. Many products that have been reserved in the shopping cart are by the one click of buying.  We have a saying that is “ duoshou”. This is a imaginary method to stop themselves buy any more things. Because on that day, people tend to buy all the things they wanted for a long time, they catch this opportunity and take this advantage. If you really want to catch this opportunity, you need to have a very quick speed to get it and buy it. That’s exciting.According to some research, Tianmao online mall sales of more than 5 billion yuan. This reflects that these years, one line shopping is very popular. Also, in China, online shopping shopping is very convenient because when you paid for oe product, you can get it from delivery on very quickly.

And why this shopping Carnival is on 11.11?  Because this date is made up of four ”1” , we in China called it Bachelor's day.  So many retailers make lots of marketing for that day and gradually it become a shopping carnival.
