Memory of Halloween
Halloween or Hallowe'en (a contraction of All Hallows' Evening), also known as AllHalloween, All Hallows' Eve or All Saints' Eve, is a celebration observed in a number of countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day. It begins the three-day observance of Allhallowtide, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed. Some Christians historically abstained from meat on All Hallows' Eve, a tradition reflected in the eating of certain vegetarian foods on this vigil day, including apples, potato pancakes, and soul cakes.
On Tuesday, our school’s cafeteria was decorate with Halloween elements. There was also a special table that served some cheese and cup cakes in a wired looking and some cookies which related to the Halloween.
Besides food, today’s Halloween customs are thought to have been influenced by folk customs and beliefs from the Celtic-speaking countries, some of which are believed to have pagan roots. People mostly wear clothes like ghost or some character in movies and cartoons. On Thursday, October 31th, our school’s student coming to school in their fine Halloween customs in order to respond to spirit week's Halloween theme. They are incredible. In my old school last year, we did a Bazaar on hallowed day. We bought and soles aloneness products. Some students also dressed up like ghost. We had fun there. So we think that we can do more things related to the Halloween that all students can join, but not just make a haunted house and someone just not feel like to find out what they are doing in the choir room. Like making the pumpkins lighter. Anyway, the house looked very scary and well prepared which illustrate that they prepared for it for a long time and wanted to add more Halloween atmosphere in school. Students who had fun or got more feelings of Halloween should thank them--the theater are students.
If you went to Hong Kong Ocean Park during the vacation of Chinese National Day, you will find that people there really enjoying Halloween. I can tell you my experience it. That day my parents, my friends went to entertainment facility area first. Along the road, we found many artificial cobweb and spiders and human skull. There were also some people in black walking around. But the most exciting things there were the haunted house and one open ghost ride which which will open when it was dark. When the day is getting dark, the “ghosts” gradually went out. They are really scaring. The made up with red color which symbolized blood and wear ghosts’ custom which But the thing was that they will cried at you and make exaggerate action, like run to you. The place where thermostat “ghosts” appear was at that open ride. That was a place fill of ghost and you can go into there and experience it. But there were some ghost out of the open ride and “waxy he the door”. They Were crazy“ preventing” you from getting in. I was not breve enough and scared by the ghosts outside running to and shoutimg at me. When we walking on the road, we were nervous because we did’t know where we will meet those scary “ ghosts”. But the atomosphere was great.
