Easter

After our long holiday, some of us may be asking, what is Easter? Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ after his crucifixion, and transcendence into heaven. While today it is a mainly Christian tradition, most Biblical scholars actually believe it to have first been a pagan festival, with non-christian roots, celebrated at around the same time as Passover. But today, it is an important symbolic day for Christians all over the globe, and one which for some will be spent in quiet contemplation. For others, it will be an opportunity to enjoy some time off school.
